Aloe vera is a well-known important herbal medicinal plant. Aloe vera contains 20 types of minerals. It contains 8 of the 22 amino acids required by the human body. Also contains vitamins A, B1, B2, B6, B12, C and E. But this tree is not very happy. Therefore, it is usually enough to use phosphorus-rich water as a fertilizer once a year. But many times the plants are damaged due to some diseases and various pests. Let’s find out what can be managed in that case.
Leaf spot is a significant issue for aloe vera plants, especially during the end of winter and in the month of Falgun. It is characterized by the appearance of small, pointed spots on the tips of the leaves, which exude a sticky substance that dries up and forms brown spots. This disease is believed to be bacterial, so fungicides are ineffective. To address this, commercial aloe vera cultivators typically spray the plants with lime water every 15 days.
Remedies
– Cut off the dried part of the leaves.
– Mix Cupravit or Nain or Nativo (powder) with one liter of water and spray on the plants.
– For black stains, mix 2ml of Eminent Pro (Liquid) with one liter of water and spray.
– If excess, then use copper oxychloride 50%wp.
Home Remedies
– Mix one spoon of lime well in one liter of water and spray it on the plants. Do this once a week.
– Give the lime mixed water at the root of the plant for 3-4 months, once a month.
Root rot disease can lead to the decay of the plant’s roots and eventual death of the plant. It occurs during the rainy season or when water accumulates at the plant’s base.
Remedy
Fungicide spraying can help address this disease.
Insects:
While aloe vera plants are not commonly infested by insects, they can occasionally be attacked by umbrella bugs, jab bugs, scale insects, and red spiders.
Remedy
Spread neem spray on the plant to keep it free from insects.
